Moving listeners through memory, love, loneliness, triumph, and surrender, Barbara Hannigan leads the Orchestra in a program of Haydn, Vivier, Ligeti, and R. Strauss. She discusses the role music played in her childhood and the people who shaped her world. Soprano Aphrodite Patoulidou joins Hannigan — herself an acclaimed soprano as well as conductor — to reminisce about how Hannigan’s artistic mentorship blossomed into a deeper collaborative connection.
