Written on a trip from Vienna to Salzburg, Mozartโs โLinzโ Symphony was named for Franz Welser-Mรถstโs Austrian hometown. The Music Director recalls the cultural flowering he witnessed there as a student and reminisces about his earliest days as an aspiring conductor. Still early in his own career, Vinay Parameswaran, Assistant Conductor and director of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra, talks about his own musical upbringing and the importance of music for young people.
